Vote

Apple Valley is electing a Mayor and two City Councilmembers on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. You get to vote for two council candidates — and I’d be honored to be one of them.

Here’s everything you need to make your plan.

Key dates

  • September 18 — Early voting opens; absentee ballots start going out
  • October 13 — Deadline to pre-register online or by mail
  • November 2, 5:00 p.m. — Last day of in-person early voting
  • November 3 — Election Day

Three ways to vote

1. Vote early, in person

Starting September 18, you can vote before Election Day — no excuse or reason needed. Two locations right here in Apple Valley:

Apple Valley Municipal Center
7100 147th St. W., Apple Valley

Dakota County Western Service Center
14955 Galaxie Ave., Apple Valley

2. Vote by mail

Any Minnesota voter can request an absentee ballot — no excuse needed. Ballots start going out September 18. Request your ballot online →

  • You’ll need a witness: a U.S. citizen who is 18 or older on Election Day, or a notary.
  • Return it right away. Your ballot must be received by Election Day, not just postmarked.
  • You can track your ballot to confirm it was received and counted.

3. Vote on Election Day

Polls are open 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3. If you’re in line at 8:00 p.m., you can still vote. Find your polling place →

Minnesota law gives you time off work to vote, and your employer can’t penalize you for taking it.

Not sure if you’re registered?

Check your registration — it takes about 30 seconds →

If you’re not registered — or you’ve moved, changed your name, or haven’t voted in a while — you have two options:

Register in advance by October 13.

Register when you vote. Minnesota has same-day registration, so you can register in person during early voting or at your polling place on Election Day. Bring a photo ID with your current address, an ID plus a document showing your address, or have a registered voter from your precinct vouch for you.

One last thing

Two seats are open, which means you have two votes. Please use both — and if one of them is mine, thank you. I’d be honored to serve.

— Maggie
